WordPress.com is a great untapped source of targeted traffic.

I teach my students how to harness WordPress.com users and convert them into traffic for their site, but not any traffic, specific traffic that is perfect for their niche.

So you’ll see here you’ve got a couple of options.

Now if you’ve come here just to do a review, which is really what I use it for.

One of the great things about leaving a review, besides the initial time, spent setting up your account, is that it’s a quick way to send traffic to your blog, you can just pop onto WordPress.com and give reviews for as many awesome plugins that are related to your niche as you would like.

Which is great for two reasons.

First, It helps the people who created that plugin to keep it going.

I have a lot of free plugins that I adore, that make my life so much easier and they don’t charge for it, so the least I can do is leave a review, plus it benefits my blog to do so.

So giving them a review not only helps boost their reputation, but it offers them encouragement to continue to have the plug-in as a free option. You know, it kind of just helps them know we appreciate what they’re doing.

Second: You Gain Free Targeted Traffic

Entering a review of a plug-in related to your niche is super beneficial because it’s getting your name out there. If you are doing reviews on things related to your niche, people that will need your help are going to be looking at that plug-in.

Another great bonus is because many plug-ins are free, it’s easy peasy to give it a test run, prior to making a review.

For me, the one I was just about to do a review for is the WordPress forms, which come with every blog that you set up through Blue Host and wordpress.com.

So obviously anyone looking to build or grow a blog is going to have that automatically downloaded and if they would like to see if it is worth their while, they’re gonna head over to the plugin site and see the reviews and they’ll see my face 😄 as well.

An example of this would be, if you’re running a cooking blog, perhaps you submit some reviews on recipe plug-ins, recipe box plug-ins, etc. You might be thinking but Bianca, my audience isn’t bloggers, and that’s totally ok, where this would help you are most food bloggers are always looking for other sites to reference in round-up posts, guest hosts and to keep an eye out for collabs, or ideas, so many would click over to check you out and might include some of your recipes in a round-up post which will also drive your traffic up as a secondary source.

So it’s not only a great marketing strategy to get your word out there to the millions of people that use plugins every day because they’re free, but you will also help the developer stay motivated to keep making great stuff.

It’s a win-win for everyone.

Creating a WordPress.com site is the first step towards generating FREE traffic to your blog, once created you can create reviews for plug-ins related to your niche, so people can easily find you, and click over to see what you’re all about.

Reviewing products, plug-in’s and other review spots, especially free products, since it’s easy to test them out, then offering your review is a great way to put your brand out there and drive traffic to your site.bbgb bbbb

I've been blogging for business for 5 years and for me, it's a no brainer, i've tried many other platforms, including wix, podia, kajabi, and many others, and they all have their own pros and cons, but for me the sheer customization and possibilities are endless with WordPress, so for me its a must.

According to wpbeginner.com, they believe if you want to make money with your website you should set up your site on WordPress.org, they refer to WordPress.com as "If you are a personal blogger, and you don't care about making money from your website, then go with the free WordPress.com. If you are a business or a blogger that wants to make money from your site, then we recommend using the self-hosted WordPress.org."

It boils down to the best way to have a custom site and make money is to use WordPress.org. I completely agree with Wpbeginner, especially if you use Bluehost as your hosting platform you will get one-click access to WordPress.org and the customization options are endless, in my experience as a business blogging coach, my students and I have had exceptional experiences using WordPress.org to monetize with crazy good results, I absolutely recommend WordPress.org for your business website if you want to make money, especially if you use Bluehost as your host its perfect for beginners, and it's easy to understand set-up makes it a breeze for newcomers to use right away.

My recommendation is if you don't have 10+ years of web development experience go with Bluehost which includes WordPress.org, it's an easy winner from 24/7 customer service, free domain, and free SSL security [which just means it shows that little lock up in the corner of your search bar and tells devices your site can be trusted (Inmotion hosting charges 5.99/month for this which is crazy!) and so much more.

If you want more help building your website, grab your seat in Rock-it Blueprint and launch your custom blog in 3 days with a FREE step-by-step video mini-course, I'll walk you thru each step of building a blog.

No more wondering if you've missed something, or scrolling Facebook to avoid thinking about it because you're paralyzed by decision overwhelm. Not only is it crazy that this mini-course is free ($97 Value) it's also got amazing bonuses, I mean don't even get me started on the amazing bonuses & printables that will keep you on track. While blogging isn't for everyone, that's usually because of the myths surrounding what blogging truly is. Blogging is basically a website where people can directly see what you have to offer, that's it. It's a tool for your biz. A powerful one, that can create 100's of thousands of dollars annually if you position it correctly.

Here are some quick myth's i'm going to bust:

  • You need to be a expert
  • You Don't, Not in the traditional sense. Just sharing what you do know, and what has worked for you in your particular topic and niche is what will create a sustainable blogging business. , its easier to think of yourself as an advisor, if someone needed help with your chosen topic, what could you help them with? take a 5 min timer and jot down all that you know about your chosen topic, I bet you'll Surprise yourself with how much is on that paper. that is what you're an 'expert in' and we are all always learning new things, we will never be like *hands up in the air* ok! i'm offically done learning for the rest of my life" who's eVER said that, no one, (other than me in my college algebra class😂 anyone with me, math is not my forte, which is ironic since i seem to have a knack for budgeting and biz finance, but put a polynomial infront of me and i'm out.🤣)
  • Blogging is for journaling about your cat
  • Blogging is a billon dollar industry, while you can totally blog about you cat and depending on how you frame it could make wads of cash (i.e. cat fashion, pet training, pet activities/toys, cat accessories, etc.). Blogging is typically used as a biz tool to get eye on the prize (you, your product, your knowledge). and a very profitable tool at that.
  • Blogs are outdated
  • I beg to differ, even Home Depot, target, and joAnns have blogs, they've just given them fun names, like 'Target Finds', 'Projects & Learnings' or 'DIY projects & Ideas'. But they are all still just blogs designed to answer Their audiences questions, and objections, and leads them to purchase their products. if you we're on joanns site thinking i love this fabric design, but i don't know what i'd make, they have blog posts dedicated to that, so you read the post, then buy their product, they are offering you an answer for what to do once you've gotten their product. "if you buy this product, here is what you can do & heres how to do it"
  • Your biz doesn't need a blog
  • when people find you on social, podcast, youtube, google, Reddit, or anywhere else where can they go to learn more about you and what you have to offer? your blog. Not to mention you own your blog/website, and you don't own the other channels so if they for some reason change the Algorithm or rules and either shut down your account, or the traffic slows to a dribble, what now? exactly. where on your blog you have complete control at all times. it's invaluable. even the big box stores know it. it's the key connection to your audience & authority builder.
  • Blogging is oversaturated
  • there is only one you. your story is unique. you are your brand. there is no other brand like yours, the way you speak, explain, teach, your thoughts, feelings, energy, and opinions are all going to be different than the blogger "next" to you. that's the beauty of it all, when you finally stop comparing and start collaborating you realize that even the ppl that are in your niche are different and your audiences could use both of you and get something different out of it, maybe they like how i use examples and fun idioms and i break things down with tutorials, methods and templates, but maybe the other marketing blogger is more focused on exclusivly on the mindset aspect of running a biz and they have frameworks, etc just for that, same niche, similar content but different angle and outcomes, this is the beauty of blogging, and entreprenurship. this is my answer anytime someone comes to me with the concern about "but my niche is too full" or "people further ahead, smarter, or better than me have already said everything i wanna say" my answer to them is stay in your lane and focus on being yourself, there will be people out there who don't want all the fancy words, and are tired of google-ing everything that other person says because they use too much jargon, or maybe they don't explain enough, or maybe they don't use enough visuals, or too much/cluttered, etc. there are always content gaps that you can squeeze into if you know what your looking for to make your unique brand stand out for your person in the big wide web.
  • blogging is not for corporate america
  • Some of the biggest companies use blogs to 10x Their income, a few examples are playstation, meta, etsy, ted 'Talk', Yelp, The white house, and even harvard. did your mind just get blown? i'm not suprised, many don't even realize that when they google anything every single result that comes up is a blog of some shape or form, yep you read that right, EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Ever typed in 'the 5 best...." every result was someone's blog post and if they were smart it each link was a money making affiliate link, so if you went there clicked to see the product on say amazon and bought it they got a paycheck for that, no cost to you, plus the ad Revenue for you being on their site just looking.
  • blogging doesn't impact your biz
  • Imagine for a second, You spent 1 hr in my printable shortcut™️ course, you've now created your own printable to sell in under 20 mins, and you sell it for $24, you've got 100 people you've got thanks to your content shortcut™️ system, let's say you do a beta launch and 5 people buy you now have made over $100 on something that took you a total of 1 1/2 hrs to create, and this item can continue to sell forever with no more work, yea its worth it. this is just one small example, there are 100's of ways to make money with your blog, i go over them in the blogging for business Shortcut™️ Course but let's say you've taken the belief challenge & now you feel ready to sell a course priced at $399, your blog has been able to get 100 ppl on your email list (if you don't have one yet or would like to grow yours, no worries the email Marketing Shortcut™️ will teach you how to go from 0 to 5k in no time & make sure you are only getting buyers on the list, and repel the freebie hoarders.) you don't need a big list to make full time income if you position yourself correctly, that's why in the mastermind we often have higher than industry standards conversion rates (how many ppl actually sign up vs not) 100 people on the list 20 ppl buy (20% conversion) thats almost 8k! in one swoop, so yes a blog matters, and you need one, a good one.
  • you have to create 100s of posts for your blog to make money
  • 20 highly targeted posts in the beginning is more than enough, then you can start repurposing, and using the content shortcut™️ You can devise a content strategy that is easy to use and save loads of time and brainpower, how nice would it be to sit down for 20 mins, and have a months worth of content that sells your products for you, some of the magic lies in the methods i developed for my own biz and now share, you create a product, then focus all content around that product in a way that leads the readers to become buyers automatically.
  • Blogging isn't big business/Not seen as a viable profession
  • 77% of all fortune 500 companies are using blogging Whoa nelly! I beg to differ! don't just take my word for it. according to a recent study by darmouth university, 77% of all fortune 500 companies are using blogging as a vital tool for growing their sales & biz. uh, idk about you but i'd say that YES blogging is big biz and the idea that it isn't is more of a mindset story we need to work thru.

So those are just a few of the tons of myths that are swirling around out there, and the true facts about blogging for each one, if you have questions feel free to reach out on our FAQ form, I will add your request to the content schedule.

Here's some common FAQs

Before we start creating a log-in to WordPress.com. You might be wondering, “what’s the difference?” Let’s break it down:

WordPress.com

WordPress.org

Offers Free Hosting but limits your storage to 3GB on the free plan (a problem for blogs, we use images, etc, that take up space quickly) Self-Hosted- Doesn’t Come With Free Hosting. However, Bluehost plans start at $2.95/mth, which is unbeatable for all that you get

Gives You a free domain, something similar to yoursite.wordpress.com. If you want a custom domain, you have to pay to upgrade

You have to get a custom domain (included with Bluehost) Alone, most custom domains are only $12/year, Bluehost offers the first year free
Limited Themes, so not too many design options, to make your site work the way you need it to or look the way you prefer Install any theme you want plus the best theme in my opinion Astra is always free, and any customization you want
Can’t use any 3rd party plug in’s without paying the $25 mth plan. Can use any & ALL 3rd Party Plug-in’s allowing endless customization options, and site improvements, from setting up a shop, membership site, tracking with google, speeding up your site, linking to your email provider and so much more 3rd party plug ins are the swiss army knife of blogs, endless possibilities

You can’t put any ad’s that you would be paid for on your site, but you will have ad’s just not ones you get paid for, this is how they offer you the free plan, they get paid off of your site traffic. To remove those ad’s its around $4 a month (more than you’d pay to use Bluehost for wordpress.com) No ad’s unless you want there to be, there is no limit to the amount or type of ad’s that you can place on your site and you get to keep 100% of the money earned. You also can choose any Ad company you’d like, for example, Google Ad-spend or whichever Ad company you choose.
You get basic security, and back-ups are handled for you You get security with whoever is hosting your site, with Bluehost you get SSL security & can use a plug-in for back-ups for free.
You are limited by the plan’s parameters You can set up a shop, membership site, and endless possibilities

There are major differences from wordpress.org to wordpress.com, this is important to remember. WordPress.com is where most people set up their websites, especially if you choose Bluehost for your site’s host.
