How To Sell Your Product During The Holidays [Without Selling Your Soul]

We’ve all seen it.

This Labor Day Closeout 1000000000% off this weekend only blah blah blah….does that really fool anyone?

The simple answer is no, if they were already planning to buy…maybe but they sure weren’t swaying anyone else.

There is a much better way to sell during the holiday’s without selling your soul.

No matter what niche you’re in this will be a great jumping off point to help you get the ball rolling and ideas flowing.

Let’s amplify your reach utiziling holidays and providing your people more value not just “sales”. 

We’re going to cover how to capitlize on the holiday hub bub, even if your in a unique market without caving in to the peer pressure of what everyone else and their mother are doing to make sales during the holidays.

It starts with a simple question to get your thinking shoved outta the box.

What would help them [results you get] this [insert holiday]?

For example let’s use Mothers day.

Were going to cover a variety of Niche’s to paint the picture for ya.

 If you’re in the pet industry:

As a dog obedience coach you could make a mothers day pet gift guide perfect for quality time during trainings on mothers day for the pet moms

As a Potty Training Coach for 1st time puppy owners you could put a “how to avoid accidents while you have company over” or “guide to leaving your new puppy with a sitter” or “best tips for traveling while potty training your puppy” or “puppy travel potty training checklist” or “round up guide of best puppy travel gear” etc

If your in the gardening niche it could be the perfect mothers day flower gift guide, or the perfect plants/flowers to plant during mothers day weekend

If you’re a marketer like me you could make a graphics pack of mothers day templates

If you’re a travel niche you could compile the best day trips for mothers day “that moms actually want to go to” you could base it on local, or destination based, you could also create a travel guide or packing list, etc. you could create a checklist for mothers day celebration if your a planner

If you’re a food blogger industry you could create a ebook of the best mothers day recipes, or brunch recipes, or tea party recipes, etc.

If you’re in the health and wellness sector you could take many angles but a few could be compiling a self care guide, bingo card, gift booklet that someone could print and give as a gift with “tickets” for things like massage, etc.

You could create a game or checklist that lays out the best ideas for spending quality time and self care as a family or alone.

If you’re in the parenting industry you could create a list of kid friendly activities that are no prep, or guides for picking family friendly activies that wont be work for the mom, or easy kids activities the dads or whoever is watching the kids while mom is out for self care can do together.

If you’re in the DIY niche depending on your medium there are a ton of possibilities here’s just a few:

Painiting: a mom and me live zoom class, a bonus replay of a painting tutorial, a checklist for the best painting gifts for mom, a paint by numbers printable, a collection of relaxing painting techniques (like paint pouring, etc) to do during your “me time”, to relax and rejuvenate etc.

Paper crafts: printable mothers day gift baskets with cards, kids crafts, signage for the ‘breakfast in bed’ tray, label for gifted candles, pop up 3d cards, bonus tutorial, etc

Knitting: Special pattern just for mothers day, live knit together, printable guide to top 10 gifts to make for mom, etc

If you’re in the kids diy kids crafting industry, maybe some printable gifts the kids can do, a kids under $20 gift ideas guide, checklist or something, could do recipes for diy clay or something so they can make a cup or bowl or vase for their parent, you could create a bundle of easy no/little prep crafts the kids can create to give to the mom as a gift, coloring pages, scavengar hunts, other fun games the family can do together for quaility time. 

If you’re in the travel industry, you could create a checklist for a mothers Day itinerary. You could provide great getaway ideas for Mother’s Day. If your location is specific, it could be the best places in that area. You could categorize it as best restaurants for live entertainment, low-key, romantic, family-friendly, best day trips, etc.

If you are not location specific, you can give general ideas like staycation with a helpful guide for them to build their day, like a picnic, or a guide to help them figure out which type of day the mom wants, like a relaxing day, an adventure/experience, etc then help them figure out other details like cook, order in, eat out, go to an inside event or outdoors, etc. Another idea could be a printable like a fill-in-the-blank template, a spot to write the meals, restaurants, activities, etc

If you’re in the fashion industry you could put together a guide on the perfect outfits for mothers day, or matching outfits for moms and kids, or group it in activity based ideas, like perfect for staying in, massage day, shopping day, zoo/outing day, date night, etc.

As you can see there are endless ways to promote, sell and build excitement for your offer without giving in to the slimy holiday sale tactics…been there done that…am I right?! 🤣

So theres a little peek into how to use the holidays to your advantage without hopping on the sale in your face bandwagon

Be sure to use these ideas to jumpstart your own way to creatively use holidays to sell, enhance your peoples lives, and offer even more value without ever uttering the word S-a-l-e.

Remember ask yourself how could I help them even more this holiday, rather than focusing on some bogus “sale” just cuz its a holiday.

The best way to reach people, get them results, offer a good feeling to your brand, and ultimatly lead them to buy from you is offering more value, not just lower prices, there are other ways to entice them to buy with urgency and a “holiday” themed sale isn’t it.

Every one is doing that and you want to be different, stand out and be better than everyone who came before you, not just so you can make more money, but because your people deserve better results and you want to be the one who can give it to them.
